BTS member V is in an exciting phase of his career as he takes a solo path, following the footsteps of his bandmates. He’s gearing up to release his solo debut collection and has recently dropped two tracks from it, and now both of them have become bestsellers. These wins have not only shown that this chapter is off to a solid start, but also put him on par with another BTS star on a competitive Billboard ranking.
Last week, V released two songs, “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days,” from his upcoming EP called Layover. Fans rushed to support him, and both tunes debuted high on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart. “Love Me Again” is the loftier of the two, coming in at No. 3, while “Rainy Day” launches at No. 4.
These wins have instantly doubled V’s career total of top 10 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart.
V now claims four top 10 placements on the Digital Song Sales chart, tying with his BTS bandmate RM. They both share the title of having the fifth-most appearances in the top 10 on the chart among South Korean solo musicians. This achievement is separate from their successes as part of the BTS group, which has already scored dozens of hits.
When it comes to South Korean solo musicians with the most top 10s on the Digital Song Sales chart, Suga leads the pack with nine. J-Hope follows closely with seven, while two other BTS members, Jimin and Jung Kook, have five top 10 hits each on the chart. They recently matched one another thanks to their own solo offerings.
V’s recent songs, “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days,” along with two older tracks, have all reached the top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart. He first entered the top 10 on the ranking in 2020 with “Sweet Night,” narrowly missing the top spot, as the tune settled at No. 2. In late 2022, “Christmas Tree” not only became his first chart-topper but also solidified his position as a rising star with his solo music.
