Jung Kook Is Re-Releasing His Global Smash Single With A Major Music Star

News Room

A month ago, Jung Kook unleashed his debut solo single “Seven” onto the world. Ever since, the tune has been proving its immense popularity, and it is only slowly losing power and its standing on the Billboard charts. Now, the BTS singer has announced a new version of the cut, and fans will get to hear the upbeat track very soon.

Jung Kook’s label Big Hit Music revealed that a new take on “Seven” is coming later this week. The smash single was remixed by Alesso, who brings not only his proven talent but also some real star power to the production. The Grammy-nominated hitmaker has worked with some major singers, like Tove Lo, Katy Perry, and Calvin Harris on his own singles, and he has also scored successful remixes by reworking songs by the likes of The Chainsmokers, J Balvin, and Maroon 5.

The remixed version of “Seven” is expected to drop on Friday, August 25. It’s coming at 1:00 PM Korea time, which is midnight on the east coast in the U.S. That’s the time when most new releases appear, as it’s when Billboard begins its new tracking week. Jung Kook dropping the tune then shows that this is meant to propel the single further up the Billboard charts, as it has been slowly descending for the past few weeks.

“Seven” was not Jung Kook’s first song released outside of BTS, but it was labeled his debut solo single. The track was a massive success the moment it arrived all around the world. The cut debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, making Jung Kook just the second South Korean solo artist to rule the chart. He followed closely behind his BTS bandmate Jimin, who managed the feat just weeks prior.

Since it debuted, “Seven” has continued to chart in the U.S. The tune is still going strong on the Hot 100 inside the top 40, though it does lose ground each week. The smash has also led the Billboard Global 200, a ranking of the most-consumed songs in the world, since it premiered. The cut is now the longest-running leader of all time among South Korean productions, as it has racked up five frames at the top of the list.

Now, its new remix will only help it continue to reign, and it may quickly bounce up the Billboard rankings after another full tracking frame has passed.
