A California dental office worker has been fired after a video of her hurling abuse at another customer in a McDonald’s in Fresno went viral.

In the TikTok video, the male customer can be heard accusing the woman of “trying to degrade people,” seemingly in reference to her behavior towards the fast-food chain’s staff.

The woman responds: “Fuck you, you fucking Mexican.” She then holds up her middle finger at the man and leaves the restaurant.

The video, uploaded on August 17, had 2.1 million views and nearly 10,000 comments as of Monday.

Local news outlets identified the woman as Gina Aiello, an employee of Fresno dentist Jack Ohanesian.

Ohanesian posted on Instagram on August 20 that his team was “shocked” to see the video and that Aiello had been placed on administrative leave while an investigation was conducted. In an update on Wednesday, he said Aiello was “no longer part of our team.”

“It wasn’t that long ago that my grandfather immigrated to America from Armenia and faced racism and closed doors to opportunities,” Ohanesian wrote.

“He, and other members of my family since, have worked very hard to become contributing members of American society, paving a way for success for me and generations of my family. Our diversity is our strength,” he added.

McDonald’s didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider, made outside regular working hours.

The male customer involved in the incident, named by local news outlets as Luis Aceves, posted his own TikTok video in which he said that Aiello had entered the restaurant and started “cussing” at staff after she had an issue with her drive-thru order.

Aceves has had widespread support on social media for his action.

“If I didn’t stop her, she was gonna go probably way over the line and I’m glad that I did stop her,” he said in his video. “She was probably having a bad day, just like some of the employees.”

Aiello could not be contacted for comment.
