Jawan crossed $95 million worldwide and made a fast pace towards the $100 million mark in just ten days since the release. Jawan rides high on the fandom of some of the biggest stars India can boast of – apart from Khan, the film features Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi (of Vikram Vedha, Master fame) as the main antagonist locking horns with Khan’s characters. South Indian star Nayanthara also made her debut in Bollywood with the film that features her as a top cop in a special task force.

Khan plays double role in the film and it features Deepika Padukone (of Piku, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage fame) as the mom to one Khan while she is the wife of the elder Khan in the film. According to reports, Jawan had majority technicians from the south Indian film industries (including Tamil and Telugu). Sanjay Dutt (of Agneepath, Khalnayak fame) also plays a short and interesting role in the film. Popular Hindi actors Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Sanya Malhotra; and Priyamani also have interesting roles in the film, making it a product that all kinds of audience may seek.

Jawan also benefits from the wide release that it could manage. Arguably the widest release for a Khan film, Jawan managed a total of 10,000 screens across the globe, including 6,000 screens in India and four thousand outside of the home country. Khan played it clever ahead of the release when he avoided conducting too many media interactions. He even limited the promotional tours across India, perhaps enticing fans to become more eager to watch him on the big screen.

In its first weekend, Jawan toppled Hollywood hits Barbie and Oppenheimer to become the fourth-highest-grossing film for the weekend ending September 10 in the US markets. The film scored more than $5 million in the US alone and It also ranked at the second slot (on Comscore’s list) for worldwide collections over the weekend, second only to The Nun II.
