For the second time this month, a complete album from Kanye West has leaked onto the internet, seemingly in full. This time around, it’s the never-released full-length Jesus Is King 2.
The collaborative album was completed with the help of hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre, as well as a bevy of superstars who contributed verses. The leaked project comprises 15 songs and features a star-studded lineup, including names like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Travis Scott, Pusha T, 2 Chainz and Anderson .Paak, among many others.
Jesus Is King 2 was meant to serve as a follow-up to West’s Jesus Is King, which was released in 2019, and the sequel is essentially a remix package of the original. That first set went right to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album Grammy.
West actually announced Jesus Is King 2 on Twitter back in 2019, so its existence wasn’t entirely secret, though the rapper later stayed silent about the project, forcing many of his fans to wonder what had happened to the title. In the years since he first mentioned the effort, a handful of songs and snippets have leaked online, but this latest break in security marks the first time the entire set is available.
One of the tracks on Jesus Is King 2, “Use This Gospel,” includes a new performance by Eminem. While West never released his album, that segment did make its way onto a DJ Khaled album. West has also shared pieces of the leaked project on various deluxe editions of his own works.
In addition to the high-profile remixes and features, Jesus Is King 2 also includes a handful of never-before-heard completely new songs. The set features tracks like “This is the Glory” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, “Blood of the Lamb” by Pusha T, “L.A. Monster” by A$AP Ferg and “Our King,” a collaboration between Dr. Dre and 2 Chainz.
The leak of Jesus Is King 2 follows shortly after West’s visual album Donda: With Child made the rounds on the internet earlier this month, seemingly without the musician’s approval. West is reportedly hard at work on his next album, which sources close to the rapper state could be dropped sometime soon, potentially without warning.
