BTS is currently not recording and putting out music, as several of the members are preoccupied with their mandatory military enlistment, which is something that all men in South Korea must engage in before a certain age. While the band might not be active in this moment, that doesn’t mean their fans have stopped buying and streaming their past releases. In fact, it’s clear that their following is just as interested in their old work as ever.
The septet’s Love Yourself: Answer is back on Billboard’s World Albums chart, spurred by continued interest from BTS’s fans. The title returns at No. 14, narrowly breaking back onto the 15-spot list. The set has now lived on the ranking of the most-consumed “world” full-lengths and EPs in the U.S. for 200 weeks. That’s a momentous milestone that very few titles come even close to reaching on the ranking, but it’s one that BTS has managed before.
Love Yourself: Answer is BTS’s second title to reach 200 weeks on the World Albums chart. The band’s Love Yourself: Tear has thus far racked up 205 frames somewhere on the tally. The other project in that trilogy, Love Yourself: Her, is up to 179 weeks spent on the list, and in time, it might also reach 200 frames.
Impressively, Love Yourself: Answer isn’t the only BTS album present on the World Albums chart this week. The band’s Proof compilation is up slightly to No. 10 in its sixty-seventh frame on the tally.
Two of the group’s members are also currently charting on the list with their solo efforts. J-Hope’s Jack in the Box dips slightly to No. 6, while Jimin’s Face EP is a non-mover at No. 2 on the World Albums chart. Both titles spent time at No. 1 and have been charting for double-digit turns.
Love Yourself: Answer was a massive success in the United States when it was first released back in the summer of 2018. The set debuted at No. 1 on not only the World Albums chart but also the Billboard 200, which ranks the most-consumed albums of any genre in the country. It marked the septet’s second leader, and it arrived with 185,000 equivalent units shifted, with most of those being pure sales.
