The latest ad industry salaries, revealed: Here’s how much top agencies like WPP, Publicis, and Omnicom offered copywriters, data analysts, and project managers in 2023.

News Room

The ad market may have endured a slow patch this year, but as agencies broaden their offerings into areas like data and artificial intelligence, they have continued to hire.

Many agencies have been looking to recruit increasingly technical roles like developers, data scientists, and engineers, alongside the more typical creative jobs.

To get a picture of what agencies pay, Insider reviewed the US Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification data from the first half of this calendar year.

When US ad agencies file paperwork to hire internationally, they’re required to list base salary rates. Insider looked at that data for foreign workers applying for permanent green card visas and temporary H-1B, H1B1, and E-3 visas at top advertising companies.

The listed salaries are determined by “prevailing wages,” or the minimum required for similar jobs with similar qualifications, which are also listed in the OFLC data. Final salaries are considerably higher in most cases.

These numbers don’t include every type of visa or pay rates for US-born employees or compensation beyond base salary.
