Jung Kook Surprise Releases A Remixes EP

News Room

Just days after he released his new single, Jung Kook is back with more music. The BTS superstar is hoping to score another big hit with his latest song, “3D,” and now he has several remixes that may help him conquer the charts once again.

On October 2, 2023, Jung Kook surprise-released a new EP titled, simply, 3D: The Remixes. The seven-song set starts with the original edition of the song “3D” as well as two other takes that were dropped at the same time, including the instrumental and an alternate version.

New to the collection are four remixes, which all put a fun spin on “3D.” The EP includes a clean version of the original single as well as a sped-up and a slowed-down version. Hyper-pop producer A.G. Cook signed on to lend his talent to a reworking as well that bears his name.

“3D” marks Jung Kook’s second official solo single outside of BTS. In mid-July, the singer released his breakout smash “Seven.” That track debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, making him only the second South Korean solo musician to top the tally.

Remix collections like Jung Kook’s 3D: The Remixes are not uncommon, especially from BTS singers. Some of the seven members and the band itself have regularly used this tried-and-true plan in an effort to inflate sales for a new song they’ve just dropped. Billboard lumps sales and streams all versions of the same song into one charting entity, so the more takes and remixes released, the better the chances that the single will earn a lofty start on the charts next week.
