On the heels of its third season finale comes word that Hulu has greenlit the critically acclaimed mystery-themed dramedy Only Murders in the Building from 20th Television for a fourth season.
Only Murders in the Building follows a trio of unlikely sleuths: Charles Haden-Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), neighbors in an affluent New York City apartment called the Arconia who investigate, as the title implies, different “murders in the building.” The victim in season one was fellow resident Tim Kono (Julian Cihi). The sophomore season saw them investigate the murder of Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell), president of the apartment’s board. And, in this just concluded season, they sought the killer of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), a famous actor who dies on the opening night of his Broadway debut in Oliver’s play.
Prominent guest stars over the course of the first three 10-episode seasons have included Sting, Jimmy Fallon, Amy Schumer, Shirley MacLaine, Nathan Lane, Jane Lynch and, in the most recent season, Meryl Streep, Mel Brooks, and Matthew Broderick.
To-date, Only Murders in the Building has won three Primetime Emmy Awards (with 28 nominations in total), including two Outstanding Comedy Series nominations.
