Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the hottest couple on the planet right now…and they’re not even officially a couple just yet. The pair’s budding relationship has been playing out in front of TV cameras for a few weeks now, with the singer traveling to attend several of her rumored beau’s football games.
Every move the two make is covered extensively in celebrity media and discussed on social media, and it’s been exacerbated by the NFL pointing cameras to Swift throughout the games she’s present at in order to televise every reaction possible.
Now, even Kelce has admitted that he believes the NFL may be “overdoing it” when it comes to the incessant coverage of the pop star.
In a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, which is hosted by the two Kelce brothers, who are both football players, the supposed Swift romancer shared his candid opinion on the matter. When asked by his brother for his “honest opinion” on whether the NFL was going too far with the coverage, Travis responded, “I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure. Especially my situation.” He did try to lighten the mood after his comment, stating, “I think they’re just trying to have fun with it.”
Travis went on to say that he doesn’t blame the organization for trying to highlight who is there, including Swift. “I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game,” the player commented, adding, “I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching.”
Swift has not turned up at several of Travis’s games, and the NFL has made sure to show her non-stop. Viewership is up dramatically for Kansas City Chiefs games, as Travis is a player on that team, and if he’s playing, there’s a chance his Grammy-winning girlfriend (of sorts) might be there.
Earlier this week, 27 million people tuned in to watch the team’s most recent game, a figure that was up significantly from past showings. In fact, it marked the most-watched game since the Super Bowl earlier in 2023. The audience was noted for being especially female-heavy, which isn’t common for NFL games, and it seems that bump can be attributed to Swift and Swift alone.
