Rapper Rick Ross Says He’s Spent $100 Million In The Past Six Months

Rick Ross, the musician, rap mogul and the “Boss,” according to many of his own recordings, is on quite the spending spree. The rapper says he’s spent $100 million in the past six months alone.

During an appearance on Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio with Ebro Darden, Ross discussed his financial endeavors and his willingness to make substantial investments when necessary. What’s funny about the chat is that at the same time Ross explains how much money he’s been spending throughout 2023, he also calls himself “frugal.”

“I been cooking on the stove for a long time, and really I was getting money the whole time,” Ross said to the Apple Music host, explaining that he’s always working, whether people realize it or not. He went on to add, “I’m a real frugal n**** at some points, but when it’s time to make a power play, I will. I’ll spend $100 million. I spent that in the last, s***, six months,” Ross stated.

Ross didn’t explain further what power plays exactly he’s made that have cost him so dearly, but it seems not all of the money that’s going out is solely for business moves.

The chart-topper recently dropped $35 million on a mansion on Miami Beach’s Star Island. The hip-hop talent also shared with fans that he may have invested $35 million in a jet. The rest of the $100 million, he says, are investments.

Ross seemingly ended that part of the conversation by confirming that this wasn’t just boasting, it was the truth. “We ain’t just talking about it,” Ross commented, “We really getting to it and spending it.”

In a follow-up video, Ross clarified that there is a difference between simply spending $100 million on frivolous purchases and using that money to invest in real estate or business endeavors. It’s money going out, either way, but the two aren’t the same. The rapper didn’t shy away from playfully speculating that it might be $50 million in investments and $50 million in extravagant spending.

Ross is busy promoting his new music with fellow rapper Meek Mill, who was also at the Apple Music interview.
