Jung Kook is on the verge of yet another Billboard chart-topping success with his latest single, “3D.” Released just a week ago and featuring rapper Jack Harlow, the track quickly made its presence felt on the American iTunes chart, consistently reigning as the number one bestseller since it arrived. While it has been holding court at the top of the tally, another even newer single has dethroned “3D” from its coveted position atop the chart.
“3D” has yielded its title of the top-selling song on American iTunes, if only momentarily. Stepping into the spotlight is “Wild Ones,” a collaboration between country musicians Jessie Murph and Jelly Roll. Their newly-released track has managed to surpass the latest offering from one of the music industry’s biggest stars.
While he might no longer sit at No. 1 on the tally, Jung Kook continues to enjoy remarkable sales success. At the time of this publication, the BTS sensation commands an impressive presence within the iTunes chart, with no fewer than seven different versions of “3D” taking up space inside the top 10.
The release of “3D” last Friday was marked with the arrival of three distinct renditions of the track: the original version, an instrumental cut, and an alternate take. Fans quickly began buying them all, but Jung Kook didn’t stop there. He subsequently unveiled an entire remix EP of the future hit. This short set includes a clean edition, a sped-up variation, a slowed-down version, and a remix by producer A.G. Cook.
All seven of these tracks chart independently on iTunes, and one look at the ranking of the top-performing cuts shows that while he might not sit at No. 1 at the moment, Jung Kook is still running the show in many ways.
For several days now, Jung Kook has maintained an unassailable presence at the top of the ranking, with all seven versions of “3D” dominating the iTunes chart. As recently as yesterday, fans continued to purchase the various iterations of this chart-topping sensation, keeping him in charge of the top seven spaces simultaneously. Billboard will consolidate all these separate purchases into a singular entity, ensuring that “3D” secures a prominent position on the charts thanks to its robust sales.
