Nothing, the unconventional tech disruptor, has gone one step further this week by adding a beer to its growing portfolio.
Best known as the creator of the Nothing Phone and Nothing Ear (wireless earbuds), the company has taken an audacious departure from the tech-xpected with Nothing Beer (5.1%).
Originally introduced as an April Fools’ Joke, the beverage has taken form as a light rice lager with a dry body and slightly citric finish.
Brewed independently by the artisans at Freetime Beer Co in Wales, Nothing Beer embraces a minimalist ingredient list; just water, rice, malted barley, hops, and yeast.
“As a London-based tech company we are proud to have partnered with another independent British brand in Freetime Beer Co for this launch,” says Ryan Latham, Nothing’s Global Director Brand & Creative.
While the limited-edition release (at £20 for a pack of six) is only available in the UK at the moment, via Nothing.tech and at Nothing’s Soho store, the company is working to secure international distribution.
“At Nothing, we’re always looking for ways to do things differently and to make everyday more fun,” Latham continues.
“We’re a brand that brings people together so making a beer felt like a natural progression for us. We have also prototyped it at multiple Nothing Store Soho parties and people seemed to really enjoy it.”
As they say, making beautiful tech is thirsty work.
The Nothing Store in Soho is situated at 4 Peter St, London, W1F 0AD, and is open from 11am-6pm Monday to Saturday, and 12-6pm Sunday.
