Blackpink’s Jennie Returns To The Billboard Charts Ahead Of Her New Single Debuting

News Room

On Friday (October 6), Blackpink singer Jennie released her second-ever solo single, “You & Me.” The tune has seemingly been streaming and selling fairly well since it dropped, and it may be headed toward a debut on several Billboard charts in a few days. Ahead of that cut arriving, the superstar returns to one list with a high-profile collaboration.

Jennie is back on the Hot R&B Songs chart this week in something of a surprise move. The singer returns with her track “One Of The Girls,” which is fronted by The Weeknd and which also features actor Lily-Rose Depp. It was written and recorded for The Weeknd’s TV show The Idol.

This week, “One Of The Girls” lands at No. 25 on the 25-spot ranking of the most-consumed R&B songs in the country. The track once climbed as high as No. 14, and when it debuted, Jennie became one of a very, very small number of South Korean artists to make it to the list. The track has now spent five frames somewhere on the ranking.

Interestingly, despite the fact that The Idol wrapped weeks ago and has since been canceled, “One Of The Girls” isn’t the only track from the series that’s present on the Hot R&B Songs chart this week. Up at No. 5 is “Popular,” another tune from the program. That cut is also fronted by The Weeknd and credits both Playboi Carti and Madonna as featured acts.

Jennie may be enjoying her success with “One Of The Girls,” but she’s not resting on her laurels, as the Blackpink star is headed for another win with “You & Me.” The tune will almost surely appear on at least Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart in a few days, but it could also become a hit on several other rankings, depending on how it performs and how Billboard labels it genre-wise.
