BTS’s Jimin keeps extending his debut solo chapter longer than initially anticipated, as the singers record label Big Hit Music has revealed that the star will be offering a vinyl edition of his debut solo effort, Face, in just a few months.
In its official announcement of the vinyl edition of Face, which was made on social media platform Weverse, Big Hit Music stated that the set “resonated deeply with the fans for its authentic expression of the emotions he had felt over the past two years,” and that “To express our gratitude for your tremendous support, we’re making ‘Face’ available on vinyl.”
The announcement is quite exciting for fans of Jimin and BTS, who have demonstrated time and time again that they love showing their support by purchasing music in a physical format. While the vinyl edition of Face may prove to be a bestseller, lovers of the EP will have to wait a little while before they can get their hands on a copy, at least in the U.S.
Fans in South Korea and Japan can already pre-order the vinyl version of Face, and orders will be accepted in America starting on October 18. While the title will go on sale soon, it won’t ship to buyers in both the U.S. and Europe until mid-January, 2024. Jimin’s supporters in South Korea and Japan should receive their copies in December.
This past spring, Face debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the all-encompassing ranking of the most-consumed titles in the U.S. So far this year, three of the seven members of BTS have seen their solo collections miss out on the top spot by one space. None of them have hit No. 1, at least not yet.
Face produced a pair of hits on the Hot 100. “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” came first and climbed as high as No. 30 on the ranking of the most-consumed songs in America. A week later, “Like Crazy” earned an even more remarkable debut by reaching the No. 1 spot. This historic achievement solidified Jimin as the first South Korean solo musician to rule the Hot 100 chart.
In addition to this exciting vinyl release, fans can also anticipate a solo documentary film titled Jimin’s Production Diary. This film will provide an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the making of Face. It will reportedly offer viewers more information regarding the musician’s thoughts, feelings and work ethic as he completed the project.
