Lady Gaga has been a global star for over a decade now, but she continues to explore new horizons and manage new, impressive feats. This week, she achieves a significant milestone by entering a Billboard chart for the first time, which is a little surprising given her discography filled with numerous multi-genre hits.
The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga debut on this week’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart with their collaborative single, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.” The chart ranks the most-consumed rock and alternative tracks in the United States each week, utilizing a methodology that combines sales, streams, and radio airplay. The dynamic duo sees their first joint single open at No. 45 on the list.
For Gaga, this new hit marks her first appearance on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. While the superstar has previously dabbled in rock, or at least rock-leaning compositions, none of them have managed to secure a spot on this all-encompassing list of the nation’s top-consumed tracks.
In contrast, The Rolling Stones are no strangers to the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. Over the years, the iconic band has graced the ranking with nine different tracks. That may appear to be a relatively modest number, but it’s worth noting that most of the group’s biggest hits made their mark on Billboard charts before the implementation of this specific list.
“Sweet Sounds of Heaven” serves as the second official single from The Rolling Stones’s upcoming album, Hackney Diamonds. The highly anticipated project is set to be released later this October and is expected to be a global bestseller. The title has already spawned another single, “Angry,” which peaked at No. 32 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
