News Room

Drake is celebrating an exceptional chart accomplishment this week as he secures the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Hot 100 songs ranking. The Canadian hip-hop sensation’s latest release, For All The Dogs, launches atop the Billboard 200 albums tally, boasting over 400,000 equivalent units shifted. Simultaneously, one of the new full-length’s tracks, “First Person Shooter,” debuts at the summit of the Hot 100 songs chart.

With this latest No. 1 on the Hot 100, the most prestigious and fiercely competitive songs chart in America, Drake further cements his legacy among the artists with the most chart-toppers. He is now on the same level as one of the greatest and most successful to ever conquer the world of music as he collects yet another winner.

“First Person Shooter” marks Drake’s thirteenth No. 1 on the Hot 100. This latest smash puts him on par with the legendary Michael Jackson for the fourth-most champions on the tally, who also achieved a remarkable 13 chart-toppers during his lifetime.

Prior to this week, Drake was tied with several other celebrated artists. He has now broken his tie with Madonna and The Supremes, who are steady with their 12 No. 1 hits. Drake matched these two less than a month ago when “Slime You Out,” a collaboration with SZA featured on For All The Dogs, debuted in the top spot on the Hot 100.

“First Person Shooter” is also the first No. 1 for credited artist J. Cole. He has come very close to topping the tally before, but until now, he’s missed out on the highest slot.

Drake actually claims seven spots inside the top 10 this week on the Hot 100, all with tunes from For All The Dogs. He even appears inside the highest three spaces, as “IDGAF” with Yeat launches at No. 2 while “Virginia Beach” kicks off its time on the tally at No. 3.

The Beatles continue to reign supreme when it comes to the most No. 1 hits in U.S. history. The iconic rock band secured an astounding 20 chart-toppers during their storied career. Mariah Carey follows closely in second place, boasting an impressive 19 No. 1 hits. Rihanna occupies the third spot with 14 chart-toppers, while Drake is making swift progress in his pursuit to catch up to her.
