Jung Kook Ties Suga With His Latest Bestselling Single

News Room

Jung Kook is the king of Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart once again. This week the singer earns another leader as his new single “Too Much” opens in first place on the ranking of the most sold tracks in the U.S. each week. The arrival of the just-released cut helps Jung Kook make history in a number of ways on the sales tally, helping him prove in one more way just how popular and powerful he is at the moment.

Because “Too Much” is new at No. 1, it is also obviously new to the top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart. The track marks Jung Kook’s eighth top 10 win on the bestsellers tally. “Too Much” starts its time on the list in first place with only a little more than 8,100 copies sold, according to Luminate. That’s a small sum, but it’s a quiet week when it comes to sales and the figure proved to be enough for Junk Kook to return to the peak position.

Jung Kook now claims the second-most top 10 hits of all time on the Digital Song Sales chart among solo artists from South Korea. Only his BTS friend Suga claims more placements within the competitive region. Suga has thus far sent nine different tracks into the area, and Jung Kook is quickly catching up.

Just last week, Jung Kook was tied with another one of his bandmates who he has now passed, at least for the moment. J-Hope is steady with his seven top 10 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. He likely won’t add to that sum anytime soon, as he is busy fulfilling his mandatory military enlistment, which all men in South Korea must finish by a certain age.

When looking at all South Korean artists, Jung Kook sits in third place among those with the most top 10 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. BTS leads all names, as they do in most contexts, as the band has sent 34 different tracks into the top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart.
