The Beatles Chart Their Biggest Hits Ever On A Billboard Chart 60 Years Into Their Career

News Room

The Beatles are back at No. 1 on a Billboard chart this week as they return with a new single, “Now and Then.” As if hitting the top spot on one of the chart company’s most important rankings wasn’t impressive enough, the band actually collects a second big win at the same time, proving how popular the troupe still is to this day.

Two of the top 10 hits on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart are from The Beatles. The band scores their first placements inside the highest tier on the ranking of the bestselling tracks in the U.S. this frame, decades after they first began releasing singles.

Leading the way is “Now and Then” which debuts at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. The tune easily nabs the honor of being the top-selling track in the U.S. this frame, as it sold 16,254 copies, according to data shared by Luminate. The runner-up, Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version),” opens at No. 2 with just over 12,000 copies.

The Beatles debuting “Now and Then” at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart is incredibly impressive for a number of reasons, perhaps most of all because the track was only out for a few hours in the past tracking period. The band released the tune mid-day on Thursday, November 2, and the tracking frame wraps each week as Thursday turns to Friday. So, that means that The Beatles outsold everyone else in America after only about half a day.

Also new on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart is “Love Me Do.” While it may debut on the tally this frame, the tune itself is certainly not new. The Beatles used the decades-old favorite as a B-side to “Now and Then,” and all that attention helped the cut surge in popularity and finally reach the sales ranking. “Love Me Do” arrives at No. 5 with 5,500 copies sold.

“Now and Then” and “Love Me Do” now rank as The Beatles’ top-charting hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. Before this week, the band had previously topped out at No. 26 with “Let It Be.”
