Qevlar, an AI-powered cybersecurity startup, has raised $5 million in seed funding.

The Paris-based company enables businesses to integrate the Qevlar platform, which then constantly monitors operations, helping identify and monitor security risks in the process.

The startup aims to address issues including the alert fatigue faced by security teams and skills shortages in the sector. It plans to “nullify human vulnerability in security operations.”

“The cybersecurity industry currently faces several critical challenges,” Ahmed Achchak, CEO of Qevlar, told Insider.

“Firstly, there’s a significant hiring crunch, making it difficult to find the right talent. Secondly, the prevalence of tedious, manual tasks in cybersecurity is a major issue.”

Qevlar has brought in seed funding from EQT Ventures alongside a number of angel investors including Olivier Pomel, CEO of Datadog, Florian Douetteau, CEO of Dataiku, and Mehdi Ghissassi, Director of Product at Google’s DeepMind.

“Raising funds in the current climate, especially with the buzz around AI startups, was both thrilling and intense,” Achchak added.

“The fact we had existing customers and a real market pull helped us move swiftly, capturing the attention of international investors.”
