Spotify has exploded as a leading podcasting platform for creators, and this year, 35,000 podcasters charted for the first time on the platform.

The week of January 29 brought more new podcast creators to the platform than any other week this year, according to Spotify.

For the first time, the company is revealing the top 15 rising podcast creators on the platform. The list shared exclusively with Business Insider includes “The Basement Yard” from internet creator Joe Santagato and the business news show “Morning Brew Daily” from the newsletter publisher Morning Brew.

“Spotify has been our fastest-growing platform by far this year,” said Toby Howell, cohost of “Morning Brew Daily.” “We hosted an in-person meet-up for our listeners a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised by how many of them found us organically via Spotify’s discovery features.”

The most popular podcasts on Spotify overall in 2023 were “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which topped the Spotify charts for the fourth consecutive year; “Call Her Daddy,” “Huberman Lab,” “Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain” and “On Purpose with Jay Shetty.”

To continue its push into the podcasting space, Spotify is releasing a “Wrapped for Podcasters” experience this year for both fans and creators, alongside its 2023 Wrapped music campaign.

Podcast creators can access the “Podcaster Wrapped” experience through the Spotify for Podcasters dashboard, which will display new data including a creator’s most-talked-about episode and their fans’ favorite genres of podcasts and music.

It’s one of several recent features the company has added to the podcaster dashboard, including video tools.

“We love Spotify’s new video features as they have quickly become one of our top audio platforms and programmatic ad revenue streams,” said Andrew Santino, cohost of “Bad Friends.”
