Michael Jackson Claims A Top 40 Hit On Seven Billboard Charts This Week

News Room

Michael Jackson has earned plenty of massive hit singles throughout his career. The late singer never had a hard time scoring a win on the Billboard charts, and even more than a decade after his death, he’s still doing so. This week, alongside his brothers as a member of the Jackson 5, the superstar doesn’t just claim a top 40 hit once again—he does so on seven different charts.

The Jackson 5’s single “Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town” has become a smash once again as Christmas approaches. The tune is quickly climbing on a number of Billboard charts, giving the star and his brothers a proper hit once more.

“Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town” is up 10 spaces on the Hot 100 to No. 34. It previously topped out at No. 33, so it could very well rise to a new high point in the coming weeks, as there’s still a few chart frames that will be impacted by the holiday rush. The same cut is also one spot away from matching its best showing on the Streaming Songs tally. On that list, it rides to No. 28 from No. 42.

Looking at the R&B and hip-hop specific Billboard tallies, the Jackson 5 are doing even better. In fact, these genre-only lists are where the band performs the best. “Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town” reaches its peak of No. 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart this frame. It’s also sitting in its highest position, No. 7, on the R&B Streaming Songs chart.

Both of those charts see the Jackson 5 score a pair of placements. In addition to “Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town” performing well, another holiday favorite from the beloved boy band is present on that pair of lists. “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” debuts at No. 23 on this week’s R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart. It’s also a non-mover on the R&B Streaming Songs tally at No. 13.

Unsurprisingly, the same tracks are also having a jolly time on several of Billboard’s Christmas-focused charts as well. “Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town” is a top 40 hit on the Holiday 100 (No. 21), Holiday Streaming Songs (No. 22), and Holiday Airplay (No. 18) rankings. It appears to either hit a new peak or make its way back to its previously-set high point on all three tallies.

“I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” can also be found on those same rankings, though it hasn’t yet broken into the important top 40 area. That cheeky cut sits at No. 42 on the Holiday 100, No. 41 on the Holiday Streaming Songs chart, and No. 42 on the Holiday Airplay tally. In the coming weeks, it might climb, though it seems unlikely it will reach the same heights as “Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town.”
