Eminem Returns To The Hot 100 For The First Time In Over A Year

News Room

Eminem isn’t as prolific as he used to be, and his singles don’t dominate the pop culture conversation like they did for the first decade or two of his career—but that doesn’t mean the rapper is done. He is still working hard, and releasing music steadily. This week, he earns his first new hit single in more than a year with an exciting new win.

New to the Hot 100 this week is “Lace It,” a collaboration between rappers Eminem and Juice WRLD and producer Benny Blanco. The tune opens at No. 85 on this week’s ranking of the most-consumed songs in America.

The track was released on December 16, which is also known as Juice WRLD Day to many of the hip-hop musician’s fans. His followers and his family make sure to honor the late artist every year on that day, working to keep his memory alive with new releases and more. Juice passed away from an accidental drug overdose in December of 2019.

“Lace It” marks Eminem’s first Hot 100 hit in more than a year. The last time the rapper debuted a new track on the competitive chart was back in September of 2022. In that instance, he joined DJ Khaled and Kanye West on the remix of the single “Use This Gospel.” That song peaked at No. 49 for one week.

Eminem and Juice have collaborated before–though sadly, both of the tunes the pair has released together came out after the latter’s death. In early 2020, the pair reached the top 10 on the Hot 100 with “Godzilla.” The cut, taken from Eminem’s Music to Be Murdered By album, rose as high as No. 3.

“Lace It” appears to be the first single from another upcoming posthumous Juice album. The rapper’s estate is reportedly planning on dropping a set titled The Party Never Ends at some point in 2024, though not much is known about exactly when. With a Hot 100 hit already to its credit, it seems the future may be bright for the title, which comes three years after his last effort, Fighting Demons.
