BTS’ V Joins Jimin, Jin, And Jung Kook In A Huge Chart Feat

News Room

BTS singer V is back with a new song, which has become a hit all around the world. His single “Fri(end)s” brings him back to many rankings he’s reached before, and it helps him earn his first smash on one important list in one of the largest music markets in the world.

“Fri(end)s” debuts at No. 49 on the ARIA songs chart, Australia’s ranking of the most-consumed tracks in that country. It barely cracks onto the 50-spot tally, but in doing so, it gives V his first hit in the nation.

As V debuts on the ARIA songs chart, he matches a feat already accomplished by three of his BTS bandmates. So far, just half of the members of the South Korean boy band have earned at least one win in Australia, with that number increasing steadily as they become more and more popular globally.

Jung Kook is easily the most successful BTS member when looking at the Australian songs chart. He has thus far placed five tunes onto the tally under his own name. He started that run in 2022 as a featured artist on Charlie Puth’s “Left and Right”, which climbed to No. 19.

In 2023, Jung Kook really proved his power in Australia with four more solo hits. His breakout smash “Seven” with Latto peaked at No. 2. Follow-up “3D” with Jack Harlow rose to No. 7. He earned another top 10 with “Too Much,” which was fronted by homegrown favorite The Kid Laroi and which hit No. 10. His own “Standing Next to You” also cracked the top 40, stalling at No. 33.

Jimin has also accrued several solo hits, and he collected them all in 2023. As a featured act on Taeyang’s “Vibe”, the two hit No. 48. On his own, Jimin then sent “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” to No. 71, while “Like Crazy” became his best showing, as it peaked at No. 23.

The only other BTS singer to hit the Australian songs chart is Jin. His single “The Astronaut,” released in late 2022, rocketed to No. 69 in the country.
