XXXTentacion has been gone for almost six years, but his popularity has barely diminished. The music he released during his short life is still charting, and this week, consumption of the rapper’s work is growing enormously–and all those streams and sales are aiding the late musician in climbing on the charts.
This week, XXXTentacion claims a pair of spots on the Billboard 200, the ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S. Both of the titles from the rapper that find space on the list are rising significantly from one frame to the next.
The higher-ranking of the two albums from XXXTentacion that make a home on the Billboard 200 this week is the simply-titled ?. That project jumps from No. 138 to No. 109.
During the past tracking period, ? moved another 11,029 equivalent units, according to data shared by Luminate. The title was up 14.5% in total consumption–a huge growth for a years-old project.
XXXTentacion’s other charting win, 17, is also growing in stature, even if it’s not living quite as high as ? is at the moment. 17 lifts from No. 174 to No. 145 on the Billboard 200. That’s an even greater growth than ?…though it’s still the less popular of the two.
Last frame, 17 moved another 9,857 equivalent units. That sum is up a little more than 15% from last week. It was also the bestselling of the two, as it sold 219 copies, compared to the 117 that ? managed in the same timeframe.
Of the two albums, ? is the only one that has topped the Billboard 200. It’s the longer-charting of the pair as well, as it’s lived on the list for 317 frames as of this week. 17 has racked up 276 turns on the tally, and it stalled in the runner-up rung on the chart.
? and 17 are XXXTentacion’s first two albums. Since his passing, his estate has released two more, Skins and Bad Vibes Forever. The former of those ruled the Billboard 200 for a time, while the latter stalled at No. 5.
