Updated with early PS Plus June games reveal 05/28/24. See update below.
We’re nearing the end of May already and summer is fast-approaching. This means that another batch of PlayStation Plus games are on the horizon, though we still have a bit of a wait to find out what they’re going to be.
This month’s lineup includes FC24, Ghostrunner II, Tunic and Destiny 2: Lightfall, so be sure to download those before June 4th.
Read on for more information on next month’s PS Plus lineup.
What Is PlayStation Plus And How Much Does It Cost?
PS Plus is Sony’s monthly membership program that grants access to online gaming. You don’t need it for streaming movies or TV shows on Netflix and other services, or for free-to-play games like Warzone or Fortnite. Any paid online games, however, require a subscription.
There are three PS Plus tiers—Essential, Extra and Premium—though for the purposes of this post we’re only discussing the Essential tier’s free monthly games. Following a big price-hike, these tiers cost: PS Plus Essential — $79.99/year; PS Plus Extra — $134.99/year; PS Plus Premium — $159.99/year.
When Will Sony Reveal Next Month’s PS Plus Games?
Sony typically reveals the following month’s games on the last Wednesday of the month, though this isn’t always the case. The actual rule of thumb is that the new lineup always releases on the first Tuesday of the month and the games are revealed the previous Wednesday.
This means we’ll get the official reveal this Wednesday, May 29th, and the new lineup will be available on Tuesday, June 4th. Subscribers will have until then to download this month’s free games.
PS Plus May Leaks, Rumors And Predictions
So far, there have been no leaks or rumors or confirmations of any of June’s PS Plus games. There are two games releasing on PlayStation on the 4th, but both can be pre-ordered so neither seems likely. The first is Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game. Bungie’s Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape also comes out next Tuesday. Of course, since we just got Lightfall in May I very highly doubt we’d get a brand new expansion for free in June.
I’ll update this post if/when any leaks or rumors do drop, but for now we’ll have to stick with my prediction / wishful thinking list (some of these are not good games, but since Sony often gives out poorly-received titles this makes them likely contenders).
- Hitman 3
- Hades
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Need For Speed Unbound
- The Outer Worlds
- Forspoken
- Demon’s Souls
- The Order 1886

- Marvel’s Midnight Suns
- Tales of Arise
- Cult Of The Lamb

Update 5/28
Sony announced this coming month’s PS Plus games one day early as part of a larger PlayStation Days Of Play reveal. The company also revealed a bunch of PS VR2 and PlayStation 2 games free for PS Plus Premium subscribers, PS4 and PS5 games available for PS Plus Extra and Premium members and more.
The three new PS2 games coming out mark the first emulated games from that era to land on PS4 and PS5 since 2019.
Here’s everything we learned today.
PS Plus Essential Free June Games
- SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake
- AEW Fight Forever
- Streets of Rage 4
Nothing too exciting there, but Streets Of Rage 4 is a pretty fun old-school brawler.
PS VR2 games (Available on June 6 for Premium members)
- Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord
- Walkabout Mini Golf
- Synth Riders
- Before Your Eyes
- The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapters 1 & 2
PS2 games (Available in Classics Catalog on June 11 for Premium members)
- Tomb Raider Legend
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars
- Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
PS4 and PS5 games (Available in Game Catalog on the specified dates for Extra and Premium members)
- Dredge | PS4, PS5 (available May 29)
- Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 | PS4 (available May 31)
- Cricket 24 | PS4, PS5 (available June 5)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition | PS4, PS5 (available June 7)
