Abigail—a bloody update of Dracula’s Daughter from the directors of the Scream and Scream VI—is streaming soon on Peacock TV.
Abigail was released in theaters on April 19 before making a quick debut on digital streaming on May 7. Abigail stars Alisha Weir in the title role, the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a fearsome underworld crime boss.
The young ballerina is at the center of a high-stakes plot devised by Lambert (Giancarlo Esposito), who recruits a group of six criminals to kidnap the girl. In order to collect the $50 million Lambert is demanding in ransom money from Abigail’s powerful father, the crew must hold the girl in a creepy, dilapidated mansion for 24 hours.
Among the crew Lambert hires is Joey (Melissa Barrera), a single mother struggling with addiction who seems to connect with Abigail. What Joey or her fellow crew members don’t realize is that Abigail is also a vicious, 1,000-year-old vampire who is intent on killing her captors one by one so she can escape.
According to When to Stream, Abigail will make its streaming video on demand debut on Peacock TV on July 19. Abigail is a Universal Pictures release, so its debut on Peacock falls in line with previous titles from the studio since the streaming service is owned by NBC Universal.
Abigail is directed and produced by the filmmaking trio known as Radio Silence, which is made up of co-directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and producer Chad Villella. The team previously worked with Barrera and Jenna Ortega on the 2022 hit reboot of Scream and 2023’s Scream VI.
Dracula’s Daughter is a 1936 Universal monster movie starring Gloria Holden in the title role.
