Netflix and Riot Games have revealed the release date for Arcane season two, with the hit League of Legends themed anime set to return to Netflix throughout November.
The release dates for season two of Arcane were revealed at the Geeked Week Live 2024 event, where Netflix made a ton of announcements around its upcoming content line up. One of the biggest announcements was that season two of Arcane will be arriving in three acts, each with its own release date.
The first act of Arcane season two will launch on Netflix on November 9, with act two then set to launch on November 16 with the final act launching on November 23.
That means if you were planning to binge the whole thing as soon as it launched you are going to be disappointed, but for most of us the split release means it will be much easier to avoid spoilers for what is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest shows of the year on Netflix.
The release dates were shown off in a short trailer to tease the series, which you can see below.
Not content with just one massive Arcane themed announcement, the two companies also revealed that there will be a brand new after-show for Arcane season two called Afterglow, where fans will be able to find out behind the scenes info after each act. There wasn’t much in the way of further info on this, but given it’s a format that has worked for many other major shows, this should also be worth a watch when it releases.
With the first series of Arcane becoming the most successful animated series ever to hit Netflix, expectations are high for the second series, which will see a lot of characters from the first series return to continue their story. However, with the massive League of Legends lore to pick characters from, there is a good chance that even more familiar faces will join the cast, or at least make cameos.
Earlier this year, Netflix and Riot announced that season two would be the last for Arcane, with the show set to come to an end once this season launches. However, with the success of the show it would be crazy for the two parties not to be working on other ideas in the LoL universe, so don’t think that your Netflix LoL content will come to an end in just a few weeks.
