Well here we are again: Sunday, the twilight of the weekend. Soon, it’s back to work for the lot of you! I find weekends to be a little exhausting in some ways, as I try to do the normal weekend stuff people do—go out, have fun, be social—but also generally work quite a bit. Sometimes Monday can feel like a bit of a weekend from the weekend. In any case, let’s solve today’s Strands shall we?
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.
Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Breakdown
I got the first couple pretty quickly—easy stuff like SOFA and TABLE—but definitely got hung up a bit on the trickier words in today’s grid. OTTOMAN, RECLINER, FIREPLACE were all a bit harder. I did get LIVINGROOM fairly early thanks to cordoning it off to some degree once I had SHELF along with my first couple of words. Things feel into place eventually!
