Telemundo’s newest Super Series is set to hit screens in 2025, and it’s bringing an action-packed story with a lead character who is a survivor, a fighter, and a force to be reckoned with. La Jefa (The Boss), starring Fabiola Guajardo (La Desalmada), Iván Arana (El Señor de los Cielos), and featuring a special appearance by Cristián de la Fuente (Amor Bravío), is a gripping drama that blends suspense and high-stakes action.
The story follows Gloria Guzmán (Guajardo), a woman who seems to have it all: a successful career, a young son, and a loving fiancé, FGE commander Juan José Cruz (de la Fuente). But her perfect life is violently upended on her wedding day when a group of hitmen storms the celebration, killing her groom. In the aftermath, Gloria’s world collapses. Her family abandons her, the government seizes her assets, the media vilifies her, and her late husband’s enemies come after her, demanding payment for illicit deals she never knew existed.
With no money, no allies, and nowhere to turn, Gloria is forced to flee and enter the dangerous underworld of money laundering. To survive, she must rely on her intelligence and beauty to win over powerful crime bosses who become her unlikely mentors. As she navigates this treacherous new world, Gloria transforms into a fearless and formidable force, determined to protect her son and reclaim her life.

The cast also includes Mauricio Henao, Andrés Almeida, Azela Robinson, Verónica Merchant, José María Galeano, Jorge Luis Moreno, and Yany Prado. Renowned actors Pepe Gámez, Julieta Grajales, Sara Corrales, Uriel del Toro, Jesús Moré, Guillermo Quintanilla, Gary Centeno, Laura Vignatti, Sachi Tamashiro, and Dante Aguiar round out the ensemble.
Produced by Telemundo Studios, La Jefa is written by José Vicente Spataro and directed by Mauricio Corredor, Mauricio Meneses and Laura Marco. Juan Pablo Ambrís, David Fernández, and Alejandro Tellez are photography directors, with Juan Santiso as production designer. Mónica Vizzi from Telemundo is the executive producer of the series.
Filmed in Mexico, production for La Jefa began in October of this year. Telemundo announced the series will premiere in February 2025.
