Twitch’s chief revenue officer is set to leave the company

Twitch Chief Revenue Officer Walker Jacobs is set to leave the Amazon-owned livestreaming company at the end of this month, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Jacobs is also the managing director of Amazon Advertising’s sports business, which includes selling ads alongside Amazon Prime Video telecasts of NFL “Thursday Night Football” and English Premier League soccer.

Jacobs has a new job lined up, one of the people said, although it couldn’t immediately be learned where or what that role is. Jacobs declined to comment; spokespeople for Twitch and Amazon didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

His exit adds to two other high-profile Twitch exec departures. The company’s chief customer officer, Doug Scott, and its chief content officer Laura Lee. Both announced on LinkedIn in recent weeks their intention to leave the company.

It’s been a tumultuous year for Twitch, which welcomed new CEO Dan Clancy in March, said goodbye to hundreds of employees through layoffs, and had to perform a u-turn on a controversial ad monetization rule change that angered its content creators. Twitch’s cofounder and former CEO Emmett Shear also became the chief of OpenAI for a hot minute.

Like many other publishers, Twitch has also been contending with a relatively soft ad market.

Jacobs joined Twitch in 2018 from the entertainment site Fandom, where he was chief operating officer. He also held senior media sales roles at companies including Clear Channel Outdoor, Turner, and Thomson Reuters.
