Want a job at Amazon’s surging ads business? Here’s how much it paid sales and account employees in 2023.

News Room

After freezing hiring last year, Amazon has ramped up hiring for Amazon Ads — Amazon’s advertising division that made $12 billion in the third quarter and is one of Amazon’s fastest growing areas.

As of Dec. 8, Amazon Ads had more than 400 open roles across 12 teams on its career site, up from 29 open roles in January, according to its career website.

Several of the roles are for new products like Sponsored TV — Amazon’s push to grab streaming TV dollars from small to midsize brands.

To better understand how much Amazon pays, Business Insider pulled data from the US Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification from January to September 2023.

US-based companies like Amazon are required to file paperwork when hiring internationally, and the data is specific to foreign workers applying for permanent green card visas and temporary H-1B, H1B1, and E-3 visas. The numbers do not include other types of visas.

The data uses “prevailing wages” to determine salaries, which is the minimum amount paid for similar jobs with equivalent qualifications. Final salaries can be higher for the roles.

The data only includes salaries from foreign workers in the US but gives job seekers some data about salary expectations. (To see the salaries and titles at more companies, look at Business Insider’s salary database).

As of Dec. 8, sales and account management is the largest area where Amazon Ads is hiring with 111 open roles. To compare, Amazon Ads has 39 open jobs in software development, and 35 jobs for applied science and machine learning roles.

These are some of the salaries for visa holders with sales and account management roles at Amazon.
