On the heels of its season finale comes word that the “Sex and the City” reboot “And Just Like That…” has been greenlit for a third season. And that is not expected to include Kim Cattrall, who as Samantha returned in a cameo appearance in the second season finale as Samantha calls Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker). Cattrall only agreed for this one shot if she could film the scene without any interaction with her co-stars.
“We are thrilled to spend more time in the ‘Sex And The City’ universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” said executive producer and showrunner Michael Patrick King. ‘And Just Like That…’ here comes season three.”
The series reunites Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg and Evan Handler from “Sex and the City”, plus Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Christopher Jackson, Niall Cunningham, Cathy Ang, and Alexa Swinton. The second season also saw the return of John Corbett as Aidan.
A total of 21 episodes of “And Just Like That…” have been produced through season two.
