Bob Newhart Remembered By The Catchy Comedy Network

The Catchy Comedy Network (formerly known as Decades) will celebrate the legendary Bob Newhart with a special Catchy Weekend Binge presentation of The Bob Newhart Show, Newhart and Bob TV series. The tribute begins Saturday, July 20 at 12 noon ET on Catchy Comedy and will continue all weekend through Monday, July 21 at 6:00 am ET.

Bob Newhart died on Thursday at age 94.

Debuting on September 16, 1972 out of The Mary Tyler Moore Show (and into spy thriller Mission: Impossible), The Bob Newhart Show ran for six seasons, producing 144 episodes in total. It featured Suzanne Pleshette, Bill Daily, Peter Bonerz and Marcia Wallace.

Newhart, which enjoyed an eight season run, aired from 1982 to 1990, producing 184 episodes. It featured Mary Frann, Julia Duffy, Peter Scolari, Tom Poston and William Sanderson as as Larry, Tony Papenfuss as his brother Darryl, and John Voldstad as his other brother Darryl.

Bob, the shortest running of the three Bob Newhart sitcoms, produced 33 episodes in its two season (1992-93) run. Betty White joined the cast in season two.
