BTS Member V Charts His First Hit Single In The U.K.

News Room

BTS singer V has started appearing on charts all around the world now that his first solo collection has been out for a full week. The musician’s Layover EP is quickly becoming a success in many territories in one way or another, and now it’s spun off a hit in the U.K.

V scores his first solo charting single in the U.K. with “Slow Dancing.” The tune was selected as the third and most recent single from Layover, and now it’s become a commercial win in one of the largest music markets in the world. The project’s first two singles, “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days,” did not chart in the U.K.

“Slow Dancing” debuts on the U.K. songs chart this week at No. 24. It is one of a handful of new entrants inside the all-important top 40 region, which has historically defined when a song becomes a hit. V joins former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne and her collaboration partner Ayra Starr as well as The Rolling Stones with new singles inside the important area on the list this frame.

V is now the sixth member of BTS to reach the U.K. songs chart. So far, the only one of the seven singers who make up the group who hasn’t yet made an impression as a soloist is RM, the band’s frontman. The band has also accrued a number of big singles as well.

Layover doesn’t appear to have charted in the U.K., as the title isn’t present on V’s page published by the Official Charts Company, the organization that controls the weekly charts in the country. That may change in the coming hours, as the full rankings will be updated later today (September 15), but for the moment, it seems that while the single from the EP did perform well, the full project might not have reached the same heights.
