BTS Member V Scores Several New Billboard Hits Ahead Of His Debut Album’s Release

News Room

In just a matter of hours, BTS singer V will release his debut project on his own, Layover. The EP is coming on Friday, September 8, and just days before the short set arrives, the musician has scored a handful of new Billboard chart wins.

V claims three spaces on this week’s edition of the Digital Song Sales chart, Billboard’s weekly ranking of the bestselling tracks in the U.S. A trio of tunes from the BTS superstar debut on the ranking, further proving that he’s an incredibly popular figure and that interest in his work is at an all-time high. While none of his new wins are very close to the summit, the fact that he sends three tracks to the tally at once is impressive.

Leading the charge among V’s new hits on the Digital Song Sales chart is “Winter Bear.” The cut arrives at No. 36, breaking into the top 40 immediately. According to data provided by Luminate, “Winter Bear” sold 1,727 copies in the past tracking frame.

Next up from the global star is “Snow Flower,” which opens at No. 43. That track also features fellow musician Peakboy, who earns his first placement on the Digital Song Sales chart with the title. “Snow Flower” launches with 1,572 copies sold.

Closer to the bottom of this week’s Digital Song Sales chart comes yet another V cut, “Scenery.” The tune starts at No. 46 on the 50-space tally. According to Luminate, the song sold 1,515 copies in America last week.

Interestingly, none of the three tracks V sends to the Digital Song Sales chart this week are set to be featured on Layover. The singer instead doled them out to reignite interest in his upcoming EP and remind the world that it’s on its way.

So far, two tracks from Layover have already been released, and both became quick wins on the Digital Song Sales chart when they dropped. “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days” were bestsellers when they arrived, but then they also fell off the ranking in short order. Of the two, the former also reached the Hot 100, while “Rainy Days” missed the chart by a few spots.
