Just months after he officially launched his solo career with several singles and a short-but-complete collection, BTS singer Jimin is gearing up to deliver something exciting to his fans once again. This time, he’s planning on releasing his first solo documentary, which will give fans an inside look at how he created his historic EP.
The film, titled Jimin’s Production Diary, is set to be released exclusively on Weverse on October 23. The movie focuses on the first chapter of Jimin’s solo career and the making of his EP Face.
The initial announcement of Jimin’s Production Diary was made on BTS’s social channels, which are still sometimes used to help each individual member promote their own projects. BTS is currently on hiatus as several of the singers that make up the band focus on solo efforts or mandatory military enlistment.
Following the first reveal that Jimin’s Production Diary was on its way, a short trailer was also shared, giving fans a highly-anticipated sneak peek into the documentary. In the clip, the musician is seen in the studio, working on what would become Face.
In the trailer, Jimin comments on his work, saying, “It’s something that I shouldn’t think too simply. It became the opportunity to know what I should do more clearly.” The BTS star also stated, optimistically, “I can say that there are more things I want to do.”
As is common practice when it comes to BTS (and other K-pop acts), the Jimin’s Production Diary announcement came with a calendar filled with dates and pieces of content that fans can expect. ARMY and Jimin’s followers can look forward to things like another trailer, additional videos, photos and the pre-order for the film itself, which are all slated to arrive before the month is up.
Jimin made history on the Billboard charts in America with his solo endeavors earlier this year. His single “Like Crazy” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, making him the first South Korean solo artist to top that tally and the second overall. His EP Face peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, which also remains a high point for solo stars from the Asian nation.
