Frasier has re-entered the building!
Paramount+ has announced Thursday, October 12 as the launch of the long-awaited Frasier reboot, starring Kelsey Grammer. The first two episodes will kick off the 10-episode first season. New episodes will then drop weekly on Thursdays, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, and on Fridays internationally.
The new series follows Grammer as Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill. More specifically, Frasier features Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David.
Two of the original stars will also be returning: Bebe Neuwirth as the ex-wife of Frasier and mother of Freddy, and Perri Gilpin, who played Frasier’s co-worker Roz.
This fall marks 30 years since the original Frasier first premiered on NBC, which aired for 11 seasons and still holds the record for most Emmy wins for a comedy series with 37 (and 107 nominations). Kelsey Grammer originated the role on parent series Cheers in season three (in 1984) and won the Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series four times for Frasier.
