Jaime Escallon-Buraglia is the new Head of Unscripted Development at Endemol Shine Boomdog, a key player in the Spanish-language television market and part of Banijay Americas.
The award-winning writer, director and showrunner has a long track record in producing films, documentaries, and unscripted content. He was most recently showrunner for the hit series Los 50 on Telemundo network.
With over 100 documentaries to his name, including the Emmy Award-winning The Cancer Dancer for Discovery, Lost in the Amazon, Deadly by Design and Rebel Love, Escallon-Buraglia brings a wealth of reality programming expertise to his new position, underscoring his capability to lead high-profile projects.
“I have worked closely with Jaime for many years and know him to be one of the most talented, respected executives and producers in our field and we are thrilled that he’s now leading all of our unscripted development here at Endemol Shine Boomdog,” says Frank Scheuermann, Chief Content Officer at Endemol Shine Boomdog, to whom Escallon-Buraglia will report.
Escallon-Buraglia has directed and produced formats such as Endemol Shine Boomdog’s Los 50 and Casados a Primera Vista, as well as The X-Factor and Survivor. He has also created original formats like Wendy Perdida Pero Famosa, Patrulla Médica and Cruzando el Amazonas. His debut feature film in 2010, El Jefe, marked a milestone as the first-ever Canadian-Colombian-Argentinian co-production.
Recognized by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) as one of 15 emerging talents across North America, Escallon-Buraglia is also an alumnus of prestigious programs like the National Screen Institute Totally TV Program and the Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab.
Endemol Shine Boomdog is known for producing popular unscripted series in Mexico and the U.S. Hispanic market, such as La Casa de los Famosos, ¿Quien es la Máscara?, and MasterChef Latino.
