Jung Kook Furthers His Lead Over BTS Bandmate Jimin With Another Global Smash

News Room

Jung Kook claims the No. 1 song in the world once again this week as his new single “3D” debuts atop the Billboard Global 200. With another winner, the BTS star continues to further his lead over all South Korean soloists when it comes to the stars who have reached the top 10 with the most tracks.

“3D” marks Jung Kook’s fourth trip to the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200, the weekly ranking of the most-consumed songs in the world. He has previously reached the highest tier on the tally as a soloist with “Left and Right” alongside Charlie Puth, his own “Dreamers,” and earlier this year with his first leader, “Seven,” with rapper Latto.

With this new top 10 hit, Jung Kook furthers his lead over fellow BTS singer Jimin, who claims the second-most appearances inside the lofty region on the Billboard Global 200 as a solo musician. Jimin has thus far collected a pair of top 10s, as both “Set Me Free Pt. 2” and “Like Crazy,” taken from his debut solo EP Face, spent time inside the top 10. Neither track reached the No. 1 spot, but “Like Crazy” came very close, stalling at No. 2.

Looking at all South Korean acts, Jung Kook’s run of hits is still impressive, but the ranking does change. BTS claims the most top 10s on the Billboard Global 200 chart among K-pop stars, as the band has secured 11 top 10 wins on the tally.

Jung Kook is now tied with Blackpink for the second-most top 10 hits on the Billboard Global 200 when looking only at South Korean musical acts. The two worldwide hitmakers have both landed four placements in the area.
