Whenever any of the BTS members release new music, either as a group or individually, the album or song they drop is virtually guaranteed to sell incredibly well. That expectation holds true this week as Jung Kook’s new single “3D” arrives as the bestselling track in America. Starting with a healthy sales sum, Jung Kook now matches one of his bandmates for a new spot in the chart’s history books.
Jung Kook’s “3D” debuts at No. 1 on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart, Billboard’s ranking of the bestselling tunes in the U.S. According to data shared by Luminate, the Jack Harlow-assisted smash secures the top spot with 49,400 digital-only copies sold. Some fans also purchased the track in physical formats, which contributed to its performance on the Hot 100, which it launches at No. 5.
“3D” marks Jung Kook’s third No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, putting him in a tie with his BTS bandmate, Suga, for the third-most chart-toppers on the tally among South Korean acts.
Only two names surpass both Jung Kook and Suga when it comes to the most No. 1 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart among K-pop stars. BTS leads all acts with an impressive 12 winners on the tally, a historic achievement not only among South Korean acts but for all bands. Just one chart-topper ahead of Suga and Jung Kook is another BTS star, Jimin, who has landed four leaders on the ranking.
Jung Kook first reached No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart with his Charlie Puth collaboration, “Left and Right,” in 2022. Before the year was up, he returned to the summit with “Dreamers,” a solo track. Now, he’s secured his third No. 1 with “3D.” When considering his entire solo discography, Jung Kook has accumulated seven top 10s on the tally. Impressively, ever title he’s sent to the list has entered the highest tier.
