Mariah Carey is one of the most successful singers of all time. She has charted 19 No. 1 hits—the second-most, behind only The Beatles—and she has made history in countless ways on the Billboard charts…but these days, the public relies on her to start the holiday season. Now, it seems that while fall just started, Christmas is coming soon, as Carey has started to promote her unstoppable seasonal smash once again.
The iconic songstress behind “All I Want for Christmas Is You” brought some early holiday cheer to her fans with the exciting announcement of her upcoming holiday concert tour, Merry Christmas, One and All! Carey revealed the trek on social media with a poster that laid out all the dates on her month-long venture.
With her characteristic enthusiasm for the holiday season, Carey declared, “Yes, the actual defrosting has begun!”
The Merry Christmas, One and All! tour is scheduled to kick off on November 15 in Highland, California, setting the stage for another trek by the singer that aims to bring holiday cheer to her legion of fans…and remind them of how much they love her biggest hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The tour route will take Carey to a number of cities around the U.S., including Los Angeles, Toronto, Detroit, and many others.
The grand finale of Carey’s holiday extravaganza will take place on December 17 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a venue she’s familiar with and which may not be able to house all the fans who want to get in on the fun.
Carey is known as the queen of Christmas thanks to her single “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which in many regards is not just one of the most successful holiday songs of all time, but one of the best-performing tracks in U.S. history. The tune hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the first time in 2019, 25 years after its initial release.
Since then, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has gone on to return to the summit of the ranking of the most-consumed songs in America every year. It is expected to do the same in 2023, and now that October has rolled around, it won’t be long before the tune works its way up the charts and becomes a radio staple once again.
