This time around, “Thriller” sits at No. 1 on both the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs and R&B Streaming Songs charts. The two tallies are usually similar to one another in terms of which tunes appear where, with the former including more tracks, as it focuses on more than just one genre.
“Thriller” crawls to the top spot on both of the streaming-only lists as millions of Americans pressed play on Jackson’s hit around Halloween. It was added to many playlists and blasted at parties and all that attention can snowball, leading others to remember how much they enjoy it and head to their streaming site of choice to hear it again.
The same single also sits at No. 1 on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart. That ranking, unlike the aforementioned two, doesn’t include streams at all, but rather focuses entirely on pure purchases. “Thriller” rose to the summit on that list a frame earlier, and it holds on the throne for another turn.
“Thriller” is not just the bestselling R&B track in America this week, it’s one of the top-selling singles in the nation of any style. Jackson’s smash rises to No. 8 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart, returning to the top 10 yet again. According to data shared by Lumniante, the hit sold another 4,875 copies in the past tracking frame.
