When Nicki Minaj released her latest album Pink Friday 2 in December 2023, nearly every song on the set became a hit on at least one Billboard chart. Since then, her legion of fans have occasionally returned to some of the title’s cuts and focused their streaming and buying efforts to make them commercial wins once again. This week, one tune from that full-length returns to a number of lists and shows how dedicated her following is.
“Big Difference” by Minaj reappears on three Billboard charts this week. It has previously spent just one frame on all of them, and this time around, it rises to a new peak on each tally.
The track reaches a new high point of No. 2 on a pair of competitive lists. “Big Difference” returns in the runner-up rung on both the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales and Rap Digital Song Sales tallies, which focus on only the tunes in those genres that actually sold the most copies in the prior tracking period in America.
On both of those charts, Minaj is blocked from scoring another No. 1 hit by Cardi B. That rapper’s latest, “Enough (Miami),” debuts in first place, giving her one more champion while Minaj is relegated to second place–for this week, anyway.
“Big Difference” is also back on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart. The tune is able to find a home on that list at No. 4 thanks to 9,469 sales, according to Luminate.
On that tally, Minaj scores the loftiest return of the week. She comes in behind only Cardi’s “Enough (Miami)” at No. 1 (37,204 sales), BTS singer V’s “Fri(end)s” at No. 2 (19,424 sales), and Benson Boone’s holdover “Beautiful Things” in third place (10,767 sales).
“Big Difference” was never released as a single from Pink Friday 2, but it has still managed to become a top 10 hit on several Billboard rankings, and that’s not the full extent of its success. The tune peaked at No. 73 on the Hot 100 when the album arrived, along with many other tunes from the bestselling set.
