NSYNC fans, get ready for a blast from the past. The beloved boy band has come together once again to record their first new piece of music in more than 20 years, and it’s coming very soon.
The beloved boy band has reunited for a brand-new song slated for a release later this month titled “Better Place.” The tune was written and recorded specifically for the upcoming film Trolls Band Together, the third installment in the animated franchise.
After weeks of rumors about a possible reuniting, and new music, from the quintet, the news was seemingly confirmed via a new trailer for Trolls Band Together that was just released.
Speculation about an NSYNC reunion have been swirling for some time, and they seemed to be becoming more and more plausible with each passing day. The band’s signature font and just an N appeared on posters promoting Trolls Band Together in New York City, which many who recognize that lettering quickly understood.
The inclusion of NSYNC in Trolls Band Together makes sense, as Justin Timberlake, the most famous member of the boy band, has been a part of the franchise since the beginning. He voices a character named Branch, and he has also written songs for both of the first two films.
Timberlake even landed a Hot 100 No. 1 smash with his single “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” The tune also netted the singer-songwriter his first Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, though that year the prize went to “City of Stars” from La La Land.
An NSYNC reunion also fits perfectly with Trolls Band Together’s storyline, as it involves a boy band coming back together.
The rumors seemed to be confirmed earlier this week after NSYNC made a highly-anticipated appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards. The five members of the boy band were there to present the award for Best Pop, which ended up going to Taylor Swift for her visual for her single “Anti-Hero.” Fans were thrilled to see the group together again, and even Swift herself seemed to be starstruck.
“Better Place” is set to be released on September 29, but whether it will come with a music video isn’t yet clear. The group’s label may or may not promote it to radio, perhaps hoping to make it a proper hit.
Trolls Band Together is expected to hit theaters on November 17.
