Wherever they go, murder follows.
Digital’s oddest trio return for the fourth season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building on Tuesday, August 27 (with one episode dropped per week). The logline: Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) wrestle with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch). Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, the trio’s investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As our amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.
The guest roster for this fourth season includes Meryl Streep, Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Richard Kind, Jane Lynch, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Molly Shannon.
Only Murders in the Building hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie, Looking). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
Only Murders in the Building is currently nominated for 21 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nods for the three stars. Steve Martin, 79, broke his own record as the oldest Lead Actor in a Comedy nominee in Emmys history. Series newcomers Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd are also nominated for their supporting performances, along with Matthew Broderick and Da’Vine Joy Randolph in the guest categories.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards airs on Sunday, September 15 at 8p ET on ABC.
