News Room

Taylor Swift rules the Billboard 200 chart once again this week, which is not unusual for the superstar. The singer’s most recent drop, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), returns to the top spot on the ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S. As the title makes its way back to No. 1, it proves its immense popularity and bests all of those that came before it.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) has now topped the Billboard 200 for three weeks. Those were not all in a row, but it still makes the title the longest-running No. 1 among all of Swift’s re-recorded albums.

Swift earned her lucky thirteenth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in mid-November with this current ruler. 1989 (Taylor’s Version) debuted atop the tally with more than 1.6 million equivalent album units, between pure sales and streaming consumption.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) owned the Billboard 200 for its first two weeks, before it was forced off of the throne. Stray Kids debuted their new album Rock Stars at No. 1 on the ranking, pushing Swift out of first place. The following frame, Drake returned to the highest spot with the expanded edition of his latest set For All The Dogs.

Now, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) has earned its third stay in the Billboard 200’s penthouse, moving another 141,000 equivalent album units. In doing so, it breaks out of a tie with both Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which both managed a pair of turns at No. 1. So far, only Red (Taylor’s Version) has managed just a single week atop the list.
