The Beatles Hit The Top 10 For The First Time On Several Billboard Charts

News Room

The Beatles, one of the most successful musical acts of all time, dominated the Billboard charts during their nearly decade-long tenure as the biggest band in the world. Now, decades after they split up, their “last” song together has helped them score an important hit on several lists.

With “Now and Then,” their recently-released new single, The Beatles reach the top 10 on two Billboard charts for the first time. This week, the band appears inside the highest tier on both the Rock Streaming Songs and Adult Alternative Airplay tallies with their brand new smash.

On the Rock Streaming Songs chart, “Now and Then” opens at No. 5. The tune arrives with 11 million streams in its first full tracking frame. The Beatles collect the highest debut this time around on the tally that tracks the most-streamed rock cuts in the nation.

The Beatles nab their third placement on the Rock Streaming Songs chart this week. Before “Now and Then,” their highest spot reached was No. 14, a position that “Here Comes the Sun” topped out at in 2020. Their only other hit, “Come Together,” peaked at No. 18.

Over on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart, “Now and Then” opens at No. 9. It launches inside the top 10 on the radio list with ease, as DJs across the U.S. were apparently eager to put the new tune into rotation. The Beatles also score the loftiest debut this frame on the tally.

The Beatles collect their first top 10 hit on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart this week, but they almost landed a placement in the space several years ago. “Free as a Bird” stalled one rung shy of hitting the top 10 back in 1996 when that tune was released, perhaps as the last from the band at the time. Their other 1996 hit, “Real Love,” peaked at No. 16.

“Now and Then” has become a top 10 hit on at least seven Billboard charts, including the aforementioned two. The track launches at No. 7 on the Hot 100, bringing the band back to the highest reaches of the most competitive songs ranking in America after decades away. Last week, “Now and Then” opened at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales tally. Now, it’s down to No. 2, pushed off of the throne by Jung Kook’s “Standing Next To You.”
