Wordle Analysis
Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.
CREAM only got me a single yellow box, but ultimately it was a pretty good starting word. I got very lucky with HOIST—one of my favorite second guess words—filling every box, though every letter I’d come up with so far was yellow.
Still, I realized after some juggling that there was only one possible word (at least that I could think of): STOIC for the win! I would huzzah, but I’m trying to act stoic.
Competitive Wordle Score
I get 1 point for guessing in three and 0 points for tying the Bot. I’ll take it!
How To Play Competitive Wordle
- Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
- Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
- You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word stoic originates from the Greek term stōïkos, which is derived from Stoa Poikile (“Painted Porch”)—a famous colonnade in ancient Athens where the philosopher Zeno of Citium taught his followers. The philosophy he developed there became known as Stoicism, emphasizing resilience, self-control, and rationality. Over time, the term stoic came to describe someone who exhibits these qualities, especially the ability to endure hardship without complaint.
