Live from Netflix, it’s Will Ferrell in his first scripted TV comedy!
Netflix has announced a 10 episode order for the scripted comedy GOLF from Will Ferrell, Ramy Youssef and Josh Rabinowitz. GOLF stars Ferrell as a fictional golf legend. Youssef will also appear onscreen in the series, but details of the character have not been announced at press time.
Youssef and Rabinowitz are showrunners and executive producers of GOLF. Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor are executive producers for Gloria Sanchez Productions. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue are executive producers for T-Street. Andy Campagna is an executive producer for Cairo Cowboy.
Will Ferrell, of course, rose to fame on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, which he joined in 1995 and exited in 2005. He has also hosted the late night staple five times.
During SNL, Ferrell headlined such comedy films as Elf and Anchorman, while his more recent film resume includes comedies Blades of Glory, Step Brothers, The Other Guys and Barbie; and dramas Stranger Than Fiction, Everything Must Go and Downhill.
Ferrell has won five Primetime Emmy Awards for his work as a producer on HBO drama Sucession and for the specials Live in Front of a Studio Audience. He has also been active as a producer. On Broadway, he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event for You’re Welcome America.
There is no announced start date at present for GOLF.
